Close Call, by IndicBytes. Last updated 21 October 2026.
In short
- There are no accounts. The game never asks for your name, your email address or anything else about you.
- Your progress and settings are saved on your device, or in your CrazyGames account if you play there signed in. We never receive them.
- To make the levels better, the game sends our server play stats: which levels are tried, won and lost, and how long they take. They carry a random number for your device, never anything about you, and are deleted after 120 days.
- If you win a daily challenge or share a run to the Showcase, our server keeps that run under a board name made up from word lists, and other players can see it. You can delete all of it from the game's Settings at any time.
- We don't sell or share anything, and we use no advertising or tracking cookies. On CrazyGames, CrazyGames may show ads under its own privacy policy.
Who we are
Close Call is made and published by IndicBytes. Questions about this policy or your data: support@playclosecall.com.
Where this applies
Close Call runs in web browsers: on CrazyGames, and in a test version on our own server. This policy covers both. This website, playclosecall.com, only tells you about the game: it has no game on it, sets no cookies and runs no scripts.
What the game saves on your device
To keep your progress between visits, the game saves:
- your progress: the stars you've won on each level, your coins and power-ups, the sceneries you've bought and chosen, and your daily streak;
- your settings: music, sound and night mode, and which tips you've already seen;
- the replays you save, and the daily levels you've played lately, so they still work offline;
- a random number for your device, used only by the play stats below.
On CrazyGames, CrazyGames' save system keeps this: in your browser, and in your CrazyGames account if you're signed in, so your progress follows you from device to device. Anywhere else it's kept in your browser's storage. None of it includes your name, email address, location or anything else that identifies you, and none of it is sent to us except as the next two sections explain.
Play stats
To find out which levels are too hard or too easy, and whether players come back, the game sends our server a short record of what happens in play:
- that the game was opened, and once a minute that it's still open, so we can tell how long visits last;
- each try at a level: which level, whether it was won, crashed or left, how many seconds it took and how many stars it earned;
- each power-up used, and how (a button or a gesture).
Each record carries a random number for your device, a random number for the visit, and whether it came from CrazyGames or our own server. That's all: no name, no account, no location. We look at the records only as totals, to see how the levels play. They're deleted after 120 days. Because they can't be traced back to you, we can't find or delete one person's records before then.
The daily boards and the Showcase
Both are optional, and both work without an account.
- The daily boards. When you win the daily challenge, the game sends your run so it can go on that day's world board: when you launched each car and used each power-up, the points it made, when the try started and ended, where it was played (CrazyGames or our own server) and the game's version. Our server plays the run again to check its points, then ranks it. Anyone who opens the boards sees your board name, your points and which power-ups you used.
- The Showcase. When you share a run, our server keeps it (the same moves, where it was played and the game's version), with the moment you picked for its picture, so other players can watch it and like it. You can take your shared runs down at any time from the Showcase's Mine tab.
- Your board name is made from our word lists and a number, such as "Turbo Otter 482". The game shows it before anything is sent, and you can change it to other words from the lists. You can't type a name, so it never includes your real one.
- A player ID and a key are made up at random the first time the game sends a run, and kept with your saved progress so your next runs count as yours. We store only a scrambled (hashed) copy of the key.
How long it's kept: your board name, runs and likes stay while you're on the boards. A run that fails our checks has its moves deleted after 30 days. Shared runs stay until you replace them or take them down. A backup copy of the boards is made every night, and each backup is kept for 14 days.
Leaving: in the game, open Settings, then Daily boards, then Leave. Your player, your runs, your shared runs and your likes are deleted straight away, and from the backups within 14 days. The game then sends no more runs unless you join again, as a new player. If you can no longer open the game (say, after clearing your browser's data), email us the board name you appeared under and we'll remove it.
Your internet address
Like any website, our server sees your device's IP address when the game talks to it. It's used, in memory only, to stop anyone sending too many requests, and it's never stored or logged.
What we don't do
- We don't ask you to sign up or log in.
- We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, or any third-party scripts. Every file on playclosecall.com, fonts included, comes from playclosecall.com.
- We don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone.
Hosting
playclosecall.com and the game's server run on a server rented from Hostinger. Our servers don't keep logs of your visits. Hostinger may briefly process your IP address to run and protect its network.
Playing on CrazyGames
On crazygames.com the game runs inside CrazyGames' site. CrazyGames may show ads, which pause and mute the game while they play, and if you're signed in it saves your progress to your CrazyGames account. CrazyGames doesn't pass us any personal information about you. The version on CrazyGames sends us the play stats, and the daily board and Showcase runs if you use them, as described above. CrazyGames' privacy policy covers what CrazyGames and its ad partners collect.
Children
Close Call is made for players aged 13 and over. It doesn't ask anyone for personal information, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your rights
We use the play stats because we have a legitimate interest in making the game better, and we keep your runs on the boards because you chose to take part. Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@playclosecall.com with your board name (it's shown in Settings). If you're in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If we change what the game collects, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
